Happy Holidays and welcome to TOPS Home, the web site e-mail magazine (e-zine) for the TOPS Community Web Site Service.
I'm sure you've noticed, we've changed our format to text-only! This change is mainly due to the increasing volume of SPAM and therefore SPAM control programs that people are now using. We have found that a number of our subscribers have been unable to receive our e-zines due to the mistaken assumption of the SPAM control programs that the e-zines were SPAM.
We have also reduced the number of articles we will be publishing each month into a more digestible amount. Please click the feedback link below to let us know what you think of the new format!
If you haven't met the newest member of our support team, Brian, please welcome him to the next time you contact support. Brian is responsible for logging all new tickets that come in to web support, and helping if he can, or passing them on to Brandon or Andrea if he can't help them himself. Brian plays an important role in our new support restructure, as he is responsible for making sure that every customer hears back from the web support department as soon as they contact us. Welcome Brian!

We have updated a number of the documents on our web site to make them more relevant to current times and new features. Recent updates include Getting Vendors to Advertise on Your Web Site, Submitting Your Site to Search Engines, Web Site Features, Security Measures in TOPS Community Web Sites, Management Company Locater Submission Form, Sample Form Letter, Dear Vendor, and Vendor Ad Order Form.
I would like to highlight the first two of these documents: Getting Vendors to Advertise on Your Web Site, and Submitting Your Site to Search Engines. Both of these documents have undergone significant updates to help you better promote and support your site. I highly recommend that you go to http://www.topshome.com, and click on Administrators and Help to check out these documents.

The following Updates were added to TOPS Interactive Web Sites in December:
- Added new "Free Form" option to Custom Modules. For more information, see this month’s Tips from Support!
- The color of the message text that displays on the screen (indicating that you have successfully edited an area of the web site) has been modified to be a customisable setting. This alleviates the problem where the text color was conflicting with certain web site colors. The text color can be customized to better suit individual web sites; contact the Support department to request this change.
- The Events Calendar now has a new tab called 'Today' that lists all the days events.
- Changed the tab name in the Events Calendar from 'Compact Monthly View' to 'Compact View'.
- In the 'Monthly View' tab of the Events Calendar, the events for each day have been reformatted to allow more events per day.
- When adding new events to the Events Calendar and sending it as an Email Bulletin with an attached file, the attachment will now be sent with the Email Bulletin.
- Several new security features have been implemented to further enhance the security of the web site.
- The font size for the 'What's New' page has been increased to better match the text on the web site.
- Fixed an issue where users that were deleted from the web site were still receiving emails from the Message Board. This has been corrected and deleted users will no longer receive those emails.
New Free Form Modules!
One of the new features we've added is the ability to create "Free-form" modules. This feature allows you to create custom pages that are not 'bound' by the standard module table. The page will still be formatted the same as the rest of your site, but it will look more like your home page where the content you add will display in the entire page area. To select this option, check the new box in the module edit screen that reads "Make module free-form?"
